The Professionals with Disabilities Special Interest Group, Now named  SAPKAN  (SAP Knowledge Abilities Network) is a new organization supported by the Cherukonda Institute USA and Cherukonda Venkanna Foundation India.

The mission of the Cherukonda Institute in USA is to enhance the knowledge of Information Technology by providing training to children and adults with disabilities and functional limitations.

What Does SAPKAN Do?

• Train people with disabilities on job oriented IT/SAP skills.
  
• Conduct seminars to show case the skills of PWD on SAP/IT skills.
  
• Provide training on SAP management consulting skills and SAP Business Intelligence reporting tools.
• Trainin the trainers to help PWD.
• Working towards the use of their acquired SAP skills in the job market. 
  
• Invite IT firms, consulting firms, staffing firms to conduct job oriented hands-on skills development activities.
• Encourage people with disabilities to participate in earn while learn program and each one teach one program.
  
• Create awareness on SAP tools that are easy to learn and has a high chance of employment in government organizations.
  
• Help conduct career counseling and Job fairs.

• Training Class for the Disability Community:  Designed to facilitate better access to SAP knowledge base, and use of SAP technology by people with disabilities with the goal of improving the ability to find a job and access community resources.
• Employment opportunities in SAP: The trained people will be engaged on SAP projects such as SAP training documentation preparation, SAP Mentoring, SAP support project work, SAP Basis, help desk and custom object development work.
